Code of Conduct

PEOPLE FIRST. COMMUNITY. INCLUSIVITY.

Big Queer Food Fest celebrates the incredible contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community to the culinary world. Our events are designed to be welcoming, affirming, and joyful spaces where everyone—attendees, chefs, vendors, sponsors, and staff—can be their true selves.

We expect all participants to uphold these values and to contribute to an environment of respect, kindness, and professionalism.

Respect & Inclusivity

Be yourself, be authentic, and be kind! Your presence adds to the vibrant tapestry of our festival. We expect every participant to act with courtesy and professionalism at all times.

Big Queer Food Fest has zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, or mistreatment of any kind. This includes but is not limited to offensive comments or actions related to:

  • Gender identity or expression

  • Sexual orientation

  • Race, ethnicity, or national origin

  • Age

  • Disability

  • Religion

  • Body size or physical appearance

No Violence or Aggression

  • Violence and threats of violence will not be tolerated—this includes physical aggression, intimidation, and verbal abuse.

  • “Heat of the moment” behavior is not an excuse for harm.

  • Unwelcome sexual attention, harassment, and other forms of intimidation will not be tolerated.

Reporting & Accountability

If you experience or witness any harassment, discrimination, or other unacceptable behavior, please report it immediately to a BQFF staff member or point of contact.

Big Queer Food Fest reserves the right to remove any individual from the event who engages in harassment, mistreatment, aggression, or any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct. In such cases, tickets will not be refunded, and further participation may be revoked.

By attending Big Queer Food Fest, you agree to uphold these values and contribute to a safe, celebratory, and inclusive space for all.

Any violations of our code of conduct will be investigated immediately and mitigated.
